2019 Annual Report

Fall is the time of year that I always look forward to. I get to look back and reflect on what has transpired during the year. We continue in our efforts to build our Music Together program and we’re proud of the growth we’ve had in terms of the number of individuals and communities reached.

Our flagship July event was another great experience in Rotary Park, Mequon. Our first Country headliner Lee Brice rocked our world and confirmed our desire to continue offering a country performer in the future. Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo celebrated their 40th anniversary tour with us.

In September we held another Storytellers event. These special events offer a very intimate look into the lives and music of the artists. Our latest show featured Goran and Morgan of the Milwaukee based band, The Gufs. We celebrated our third year presenting our Gathering on the Green Scholarship. We continue to award students at Homestead High School, Concordia University Wisconsin, and MATC – Mequon.

We are very excited about the growth of our Music Together program. This program brings professionals from various aspects of the music and entertainment industry into schools and other organizations to give presentations and workshops exposing them to the many facets of the music field. Our goal is to work together with our industry and educational partners to provide a platform to inspire, educate, and empower.

When reviewing our financial results, the data highlights how the sources of our support are changing. While the percentage of income from our July event has increased may seem like a good thing, in truth it is cause for concern. Our financial health and our ability to continue with our programs is dependent on growth in our income from foundations, sponsors, corporate and individual donations. Unfortunately, as can be seen from the pie charts on page 3, income from these areas is shrinking. Your generous gift would have an immediate positive impact.

Our Music Together and Scholarship programs have been met with open arms and the community would like us to expand our opportunities. We’d love to be able to do this but in order to do so, we need your help. Please consider adding Gathering on the Green to your monthly or annual planned giving. A sustainable funding source would allow us to meet the ever-increasing requests from the community.

We hope to see you at our events throughout the year. Our programs are dependent on your participation and support. We’d like to thank you for your continued support and partnership to fulfill our mission, bridging communities through music.

Best wishes,
Rob Kos
